Gurudwara Baba Atal Rai Ji (Close to Golden Temple)
Atal Rai, at the age of nine, revived one of his close friends, to life after his sudden death. Guru Hargobind considered his son’s actions against the Sikh tradition and rebuked him for performing a miracle. It is said that Atal Rai told his father that he would lay down his own life for breaking the law of nature by reviving his friend from the dead. So he went into a meditative trance and soon breathed his last.
Drive to Gurudwara Chheharta Sahib
Gurudwara Chheharta Sahib is located near the village Guru Ki Wadali, which is 7 km away from Amritsar. This village is the birthplace of Sri Guru Hargobind Singh, the sixth Guru of Sikh. Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the father of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib, constructed a well at this place to celebrate the birth of his son. This place came to be known as Chheharta, as the well at this site had six Persian wheels that were used to draw the water out.
Visit Gurudwara San Sahib (on the way to Bir baba Budha Sahib)
Gurdwara San Sahib is a historic gurdwara located at Basarke village in Amritsar District. This is the place where Guru Amar Das, the third Sikh Guru, stayed after coming back from Goindwal, having been ordered to leave Goindwal by Datu the son of Guru Angad, who was jealous at not being named the Guru by his father.
Gurudwara Bir Baba Budha Sahib, Amritsar
Gurudwara Bir Baba Budha Sahib is located in the village of Thatta, which is just 20 km south of Amritsar. This gurudwara was built to commemorate Baba Budha, who was a venerable Sikh in the time of Guru Nanak. According to the legend, Baba Budha was impressed by the selfless gesture and hospitality of Guru Arjan Dev Ji and his wife Mata Ganga Ji. Hence, he blessed them with a son Guru Hargobind Singh Ji.
Drive to Gurudwara Sri Tarn Taran Sahib
Gurdwara Sri Tarn Taran Sahib was established by the fifth guru - Guru Arjan Dev. The site has the distinction of having the largest Sarovar of all the gurdwara. It is an elegant three-storeyed structure at the southeastern corner of the Sarovar. Approached through a double-storeyed arched gateway, it stands in the middle of a marble-floored platform. It is famous for the monthly gathering of pilgrims on the day of Amavasya - the no-moon night.
Goindwal Sahib
Gurdwara Goindwal Sahib is situated in Taran Taran District. Guru Amar Das Ji (3rd Sikh Guru) constructed 84 steps down to the earth here for covered well-called baoli.
Khadoor Sahib
Khadur Sahib or Khadoor Sahib is a village in the district of Amritsar, Punjab, India. The village of Khadur Sahib is beside the Beas river about 38 km from Amritsar, 20 Kms from Tarn Taran and nine km from Goindwal. Khadur Sahib has been sanctified by visits from eight of the Sikh Guru
